A pedestrian injured by a motorist while following an online route has filed a lawsuit claiming Google supplied unsafe directions.
Lauren Rosenbe used her phone in January to download directions from one end of Park City to the other. Google Maps led her to a four-lane street without footpaths that was "not reasonably safe for pedestrians," according to the lawsuit filed by the California resident.
The case has become a sensation on tech blogs, websites and cable television channels, with critics assailing the woman for ignoring her own safety to blindly follow online directions.
Does she have a case or will Google settle outside of court providing her with directions on how to kiss their @ss?

God I'd love to be a judge on some of these cases.|||I don't ever remember seeing anything on Google, Mapquest or Bing maps about sidewalks.
I walk and take buses, so I am concerned about the safety of walking in some areas, but I never even thought of that. Maybe they will now put in something showing sidewalks, but I think the lawsuit is ridiculous.|||Ha ha ha. Here in the US a woman WON a suit against McDonald's for them giving her a cup of hot coffee which she put between her legs and drove off, burning her nether regions. So this hysterical woman just might win. If a person doesn't have a lick of common sense, they can sue. It's out of this world.|||I would LOVE to be the judge on some of these also. Case wouldn't take ten minutes to dismiss and have HER pay attorney's fees.
Like the couple who sued the GPS company because they ignored a "winter" road closure sign and took a turn off, and nearly froze to death when they got stuck. It WAS 20 miles SHORTER than staying on the main roads! THIS was in February, in the Colorado "high country."|||Take the second left,
